Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. Her career began with Broadway career with musicals like Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. Her performance as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Annaleigh Ashford, a Tony Award-winning actor and director has spent most of her career working with prominent directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is involved in Searchlight Pictures' horror film Dust that stars Sarah Paulson alongside Ebon and Moss Bachrach. The movie will air on Disney DTC in the form of it becomes a Hulu Original. Ashford will return in 2023, and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), exactly the same group that created Hamilton directed the show. Ashford was last seen in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp as the central figure in the first impeachment proceeding in America in Over 100 Years. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS popular comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the legendary Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not new to Broadway has won two Tony Drama Desk Awards as along with Outer Critics Circle Awards in her role in the role of Essie. She has also been in Broadway as a character in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde and the first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for the Tony Award. Ashford has been brought up in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
